FC Middle Rebelettes pick up home win versus Tullahoma

The Franklin County Middle Rebelettes beat the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats 1-0 at home Wednesday for their seventh win of the season.

The Rebelettes scored the lone goal they needed early in the second half while recording their sixth shutout of the season on the defensive end of the field.

FC Middle head soccer coach Matthew Parkerson said that it was a well-played game for his team as he paid tribute to goalkeeper Lilah Banks for making multiple big saves and to his defense as a whole for standing strong at the end of the game when the Lady Wildcats sent their whole team on the attack to try to score.

The game was scoreless through the end of the first half with neither side being able to gain an upper hand on the scoreboard.

The Rebelettes broke up the tie about 10 minutes into the second half when Payton Dearing scored after receiving a corner kick from Molly Moore for her fourth goal of the season.

The Rebelettes were able to maintain their shutout the rest of the way as they held on to win by one.

With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 7-3 on the season.

They will next play Friday at Warren County Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
