Cross country Rebels, Rebelettes run in Chickasaw Trails Invitational

The Franklin County High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational Saturday at the Oakville Indian Mounds Education Center in Danville, Alabama.
The massive meet featured more than 2,800 athletes competing across multiple divisions with the Franklin County Rebel and Rebelette runners participating in the Large Schools category.
Ruby Webb had the best overall finish for Franklin County at the meet as she finished 108th out 279 runners in the Large Schools girls race with a time of 22:26.95.
Catherine Money and Audrey Stewart finished the race together in 161st and 162nd place, respectively, with marks of 23:41.4 and 23:42.19.
Caitlyn Cashion wasn’t too far behind as she finished 171st for the day with a time of 23:54.45.
The remaining runners for the Rebelettes in the Large Schools race and their times and placements for the day were Zulema Martinez, 214th, 25:18.39; Calli Alonso, 224th, 25:45:45; and Lily Heath, 229th, 25:52.14.
Owen Stewart was the first Franklin County runner to finish the Large Schools boys race as he placed 164th out of 329 with a time of 18:20.21.
The next member of the Rebels to cross the finish line was Daniel Heath in 259th place with a mark of 20:17.36.
Austin Heath, Cristian Fravel and Josh Smith all finished within close proximity to each other in 269th, 270th and 273rd place, respectively, with times of 20:29.34, 20:32.23 and 20:42.19.
Jasper Henley rounded out the Franklin County performances in the Large Schools boys race as he finished 287th with a mark of 21:17.32.
There were also six Franklin County runners that ran in JV races for the meet with three each in the girls and boys races.
The competitors for the Rebelettes and their times and placements in the JV girls race included Aahna Carter, 139th, 26:50.24; Jada Hand, 140th, 26:50.63; and Addy Hannaway, 192nd, 29:00.16.
The competitors for the Rebels and their times and placements in the JV boys race included Michael Vasenko, 324th, 23:05.07; Kane Hawkersmith, 371st, 23:58.25; and Mason Phillips, 405th, 24:42.07.
The cross country Rebels and Rebelettes will next compete on Thursday in a meet at Lincoln County High School. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
