Rebelettes swept by Fayetteville in road match

The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Fayetteville Lady Tigers in straight sets on the road Monday for their 14th loss of the season.

The Rebelettes weren’t able to claim any set victories despite several close frames as they were swept for the day.

The score was kept close throughout a majority of the opening set before the Lady Tigers ended the frame on a 10-2 run to give the Rebelettes a 25-17 loss.

The Rebelettes jumped out to a 19-9 lead to start the second set before the Lady Tigers scored eight straight to make it a two-point game.

The Lady Tigers took a 22-20 lead later in the frame before the Rebelettes scored four of the next five points to give themselves a 24-23 advantage.

However, the Lady Tigers had the final word in the set as they scored the next three points to give Franklin County a narrow 26-24 defeat in the frame.

The teams were never separated by more than five points in the third set as the back-and-forth game ended in the Lady Tigers holding the Rebelettes off for a 25-21 victory to end the match.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 4-14 on the season.

They will next play Tuesday at Shelbyville Central High School. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
