Blood drive

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Friday from 1-7 p.m. at Winchester Church of Christ, 1230 S. College St., Winchester.

Aug. 26

Car show

The Pack the Park Car Club will present its Ratrods and Antiques Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at John L. Sanders Park, 117 College St., Decherd. Enjoy a swap meet, vendors and food trucks. Trophies will be awarded. For information, call Norman Sons at 931-308-6977.

Chess

All ages and skill levels may play chess at the Franklin County Library on Saturday from 8-11 a.m.

Bone drop

Animal Harbor will hold its annual bone drop Saturday featuring family entertainment, food, an agility demonstration, live music by Julie Taylor and a picnic with pooches. Buy a bone for $100 for a chance to win $3,000, $1,500 or $500. See animalharbor.org or text Emily at 931-308-8785.

Farm to Table

Everyone is invited to join in for the 2023 Farm to Table dinner Saturday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. presented by the Winchester Downtown Program and Nearest Green Distillery. Dinner will be prepared by Jim Jilaroski using locally sourced food to prepare a four-course meal. The event will include a silent auction and other entertainment. It will be held in historic downtown Winchester at 135 First Ave. NW, Winchester. Tickets are $125-$200, available at eventbrite.com.

International Overdose Awareness Day

International Overdose Awareness Day will be held on Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Franklin County Annex in Winchester. Specialists will distribute recovery and treatment resources. A proclamation signing by Franklin County Mayor Chris Guess will be held at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Sept. 2

Family reunion

Descendants of William Andrew Limbaugh (1876-1938) and his wife, Mary Virginia “Jennie” Counts (1881-1920), invite all relations to join them at the Walnut Grove Gym for a family reunion on Sept. 2 starting at 10 a.m. Bring your favorite dish and a drink to share. Dance classes

The first of a series of social dancing classes will be held Sept. 5 and every Tuesday thereafter for four weeks at the Firefly Ballroom in Cowan. Beginner class is at 6 p.m. followed by intermediate at 7 p.m. Cost is $10 per class, payable at the door. Other dances will be coming up. MCCSN WAT

The 30th annual Multi-County Cancer Support Network’s Walk-A-Thon is Sept. 8 from 6-10:30 a.m. at the old Franklin County High School football field on Dinah Shore Boulevard in Winchester. Sept. 9

Pet wellness clinic

Animal Harbor will provide a pet wellness clinic with free vaccines, pet food by need, reduced-fee spay/neuter (not performed on site) and reduced-fee rabies shots and other services for community pets on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at Animal Harbor, 56 Nor-Nan Road. September’s clinic will be held on Sept. 9. Proof of residency in Franklin County as well as proof of income will be required. Cruise-In

Everyone is invited to a cruise-in on Sept. 9 from 2-6 p.m. at the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center, 74 Clover Dr., Winchester, featuring the Pack the Park Car Club, live music by Three’s Company, Squidbilly Vittles BBQ and more. For information, call 931-967-9853.
