Early voting concluded Saturday, and now those wishing to cast ballots in Franklin County’s municipal elections will be going to the precincts listed on their voter-registration cards Thursday.

A total of 761 cast ballots during the July 14-29 early voting period.

Winchester, Cowan, Decherd, Estill Springs and Huntland all have positions up for grabs.

Winchester Mayor Terry Harrell has opted not to seek re-election, and the qualifying field on Thursday’s ballot includes incumbent City Councilman Steve Cagley, Sean Crabtree and David A. Marlowe contending for that open position.

Vying for two Winchester City Council positions are incumbent Barbara A. Lucas and challengers Kent Bean, Mike Foster, Gary L. Horn and Tim L. Wright.

In Cowan, incumbent Josephine Holman, Price Tucker and Tiffany L. Walker are competing for two City Council positions.

In Decherd, Mayor Mary Nell Hess is running unopposed while incumbent Alderman Larry Fraley, Mark Bassett, Anita Bohanan and Glenn Summers are vying for two alderman seats.

Estill Springs Mayor James David Kelley is also unchallenged while Earl Davis, Troy Jernigan, Bobby Taylor and Pat Thomas are running for two full-term and two unexpired-term alderman positions.

Huntland has three open alderman positions and as many candidates on the ballot to fill them, including Harry E. Allen III, Troy Gamble and Ken Pendleton.

Precincts will be open Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate Election Day voters.

Those voting on Election Day should remember to bring valid photo identification with them to the polls.

A driver’s license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by the Tennessee State Department or by the federal government are acceptable even if they are expired.

College student IDs are not acceptable.
