Class on Genesis

A verse-by-verse class on Genesis will be held at the home of Lanny Moseley with room for 10 adults on Saturdays. Time will be determined. If interested, call Moseley at 931-636-4685 for information.

Aug. 12

Fall yard sale

The Church of Restoration Ladies Auxiliary will hold its annual fall yard sale Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the gym, rain or shine. The church is located at 324 W. Cumberland St. in Cowan.

Food giveaway

Morton Memorial Church, 322 West Main St., Monteagle, will distribute food to all in need on Saturday from 8-10 a.m. Enter from behind the church. Help will be available to load if needed.

Christ the King Anglican Church, 1231 Cumberland St., Decherd, in association with Feed America First, will distribute groceries to all in need in the community on a first-come, first-serve basis starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Please remain in vehicles.

Aug. 13

150th Anniversary

First United Church, 4099 Owl Hollow Road, Belvidere, will hold its 150-year homecoming celebration on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Kim Wood, minister for the Southeast Conference (UCC), delivering the message. Several of the churches’ previous ministers will participate in the service which will include Holy Communion. A potluck dinner and an afternoon of music and memories will follow.

Unitarian Universalist

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma, welcomes Rev. Stan Bumgarner speaking on “The Parable of the Rich Young Man” at 10 a.m.  The service is followed by refreshments and a discussion. Visit tullahomauu.org.

Tullahoma Sangha

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, meets Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma. The service will consist of zazen (meditation), a short lesson, and discussion. Homecoming

Homecoming services will be held on Aug. 20 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 2210 Robinson Creek Road, Huntland. Worship service is at 10:45 a.m. with Bro. Dr. Mike Clark delivering the message. Lunch will be provided at noon followed by singing featuring The Modesitt Family at 1:15 p.m. Pastor Bro. David Baker and congregation welcomes all.

Sept. 12

Interdenominational Bible study

All women are invited to join in for Bible Study Fellowship International to study the Gospel of John on Sept. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at Winchester First United Methodist Church, 100 South Jefferson St., Winchester. This is an interdenominational event joining thousands of groups that will be meeting in more than 120 counties.
