The Franklin County volleyball Rebelettes lost to the Coffee County Lady Raiders in four sets at home on Aug. 17 for their third loss of the season.

The Rebelettes lost a pair of close sets to start the day with a win in the third set not being enough to fully rally back.

The Lady Raiders maintained a steady lead throughout the opening set and held a 24-18 lead late in the frame.

The Rebelettes then scored three straight points to make it past 20 overall, but the Lady Raiders got the set point they needed to give Franklin County a 25-21 defeat.

The teams traded points early in the second set before the Lady Raiders scored five straight to take a 17-10 lead.

The Rebelettes brought the deficit down to as low as two points multiple times later in the frame, but the Lady Raiders ultimately picked up another 25-21 set victory to take a 2-0 lead overall.

The Rebelettes went on a 10-4 run midway through the third set to take an 18-11 lead and had a run of five straight points later in the frame to bring their advantage up to 23-14.

The Rebelettes were able to get the last few points they needed for a 25-17 victory in the set to extend the match.

The teams were even in the early portions before the Lady Raiders scored 10 consecutive points to take a 19-9 lead.

The Rebelettes then scored eight straight points of their own to tighten the score again, but the Lady Raiders pulled away once more by scoring six of the set’s final seven points to give Franklin County a 25-18 loss for the set and a 3-1 loss for the match.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 0-3 on the season and 0-2 in district play.

They will next play Tuesday at Lincoln County High School. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
