CVS Pharmacy robbed; suspect remains at large

Area law enforcement agencies are searching for a suspect in connection with an early Saturday evening armed-robbery incident at CVS Pharmacy in Decherd.

Decherd police reports said officers responded to a 4:48 p.m. call to CVS, 1717 Decherd Blvd., about an armed robbery involving a suspect wearing a black hoodie, mask and gloves. Reports said the suspect ran into the store and went directly behind the pharmacy counter while demanding the pharmacists turn over oxycodone pills.

However, the pharmacists were unable to comply due to security measures in place, reports said.

Reports said the suspect, however, grabbed several bottles, stuffing them into a backpack before running out of the store.

The suspect was seen entering and exiting the store from the direction of Waggoner Creek, reports said.

The Police Department is asking anyone with information or who may have seen someone matching the suspect’s description to contact Franklin County Communications at 931-967-2331, the Police Department at 931-962-1675 or send a message to the department’s Facebook page.
