Johnson named new head coach of gridiron Trojans
Jermaine Johnson has been named the new head coach of the South Middle School football Trojans, according to a press release sent out by the school Thursday.
Johnson is a graduate of Huntland High School who played football and basketball before moving into coaching after his playing days were over.
He has spent the past 12 as an educator and coach in the Tullahoma City School System where he has coached football, basketball and track and field for both the middle-school and high-school programs, according to the press release.
His accolades include being an assistant coach for the Tullahoma Wildcats during their run to the Class 4A state championship in 2021.
Johnson will be the third head coach in as many seasons for the Trojans as he will take over the program after one-year stints from Greg Greenhaw in 2022 and Connor Creutz in 2021.
The Trojans will play their first season with Johnson at the helm starting in August.
