April 13
Kindergarten registration
Franklin County kindergarten registration will be held today from 1-5 p.m. at the school the child is zoned to attend during the 2023-24 school year. A child must reach age 5 by Aug. 15 to enroll for the fall. Bring a birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record and physician’s physical report and proof of residency. Business Expo & Marketplace
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Expo and Marketplace today from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Monterey Station, located at 104 Monterey St. in Cowan. The public is invited. Easter egg hunt
The community-wide Easter egg hunt at Townsend Community Center, 910 Shepherd St., Winchester, has been rescheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Fish fry
The Broadview Volunteer Fire Department will host a fundraiser fish fry on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. at the fire station, located at 5253 Lynchburg Road, Winchester. Plates include fish, fries, chicken, beans, slaw, hush puppies, dessert and drinks. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children ages 5 and younger are free. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 for their 50/50 raffle drawing.
Night in Little Italy
The Decherd Knights of Columbus will host their famous Night in Little Italy spaghetti dinner on Saturday from 5-7 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Church Parish Center, 2037 Decherd Blvd., Decherd. The dinner will be served on china plates and will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, drinks and homemade desserts. Adult tickets are $10 and children younger than 12 are $5. All are welcome to eat in or take out.
Truck and Motorcycle Show
The 12th semi-annual Pack the Park Car Club Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at John L. Sanders Park, 117 College St., Decherd. Enjoy music, door prizes and much more. For information, call Norman at 931-308-6977.

F.C. Historical Society
The Franklin County Historical Society’s spring meeting will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Walker Farm, 1942 Greasy Cove Road, Huntland. The presentation will include a history of the house built in 1905 by John Rich and two VanZandt men from Salem who moved to Texas and became famous. This will be followed by the history of the cowboy and cowgirl in American, how Tennessee played a role in that and how a company in Franklin County still plays a vital role today. Everyone is welcome.

Family fun night
The Franklin County Republican Party invites everyone to a family fun night on April 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 817 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. Enjoy food trucks, live music and games for children with fellow Republicans.

Ride for Rev
The second annual memorial Ride for Rev in remembrance of J.T. “Rev” Steele will be held on April 22 with registration from 9-10 a.m. at the VFW, located at 6200 AEDC Road, Estill Springs. The ride starts at 10 a.m. and will end at Daddy Billy’s, 119 NW Atlantic St., Tullahoma. Registration is $20 per bike or $25 with a rider. Rain date is May 13. Proceeds go to local charities. Health seminar
Everyone is invited to attend a free health seminar by Magda Sparrow from the Wildwood Lifestyle Center on April 23 from 2-5 p.m. at the Decherd Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 200 N. Diagonal St., Decherd. Magda will share her deep knowledge of plants and her firsthand experiences making her own herbal remedies she uses both at home and in the field. She will also give step-by-step advice on the use of herbal medicine for the treatment of a wide range of complaints.

Food wagons will be available. This is a BYOB event with coolers welcome. Sodas and water will be provided inside the event.
