Middle school tracksters compete in meet at FCHS

The middle school track and field teams of North, South and Winchester Christian Academy competed in a meet Wednesday at Franklin County High School with Warren County also involved in the action.
The South Trojans and Lady Trojans both picked up team victories at the meet as the Lady Trojans netted 55.5 team points to beat out North’s 50 points for the top spot, and the Trojans recorded 54 points, placing them nine points ahead of North for first place.
The Trojans and Lady Trojans also led the way in top-three placements as they recorded 30 overall for the day, including 12 first-place finishes. The North Gators and Gatorettes weren’t too far behind in either category as they notched 25 total top-three finishes and finished first in 10 events.
The WCA Lions and Lady Lions didn’t have as many active competitors at the meet, but they still had a first-place finish and a second-place finish for the day with both of those high placements coming in the 1,600-meter run event.

The track and field teams of North and South will next compete on March 20 in a meet at the Coffee County Raider Academy. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
