Reception Friday for two new art shows in Cowan
The Franklin County Arts Guild recently announced the opening of two member shows at the Artisan Depot, 204 Cumberland St. East in Cowan.
The show celebrates inspired creativity that can be found in the heart of winter if you look. A reception will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. Community members interested in local art are cordially invited to attend.
Artist Marion Buholzer introduces herself to the community with a show that she calls “Transformations” that is located in the window of the Artisan Depot.
She merges her work as a designer with her emerging artistic development and describes herself as “a German girl in the land of the free and a prisoner trying to break free.”
Buholzer says she has found a tunnel in the Artisan Depot where people have shown her where to dig to find purpose for the sometimes unpleasant transformation that one must go through in times of change. She invites attendees to search for the sense of the miracles of transformation in her show, which will run indefinitely.
The Banner Art show is presented by a group of Artisan Depot colleagues who use the same basic color and substrate to produce a series of greatly-different pieces based upon inspiration from different creative spaces. This show will be up until the end of February.
The Artisan Depot is open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For information, call 931-308-4130 or email franklincoarts@gmail.com. Also, visit franklincoarts.org and facebook.com/artisandepot.
