Rebelettes drop district matchup at Warren County

The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Warren County Lady Pioneers 50-35 on the road Friday for their 15th loss of the season.

The Rebelettes fell behind early in the contest and weren’t able to make up any significant ground as they took a loss in the district game.

The Lady Pioneers led off the game with their best scoring period as they were able to create some early separation from the Rebelettes on the scoreboard.

Franklin County trailed 15-8 after one quarter.

The Rebelettes were limited to just three points in the second quarter while the Lady Pioneers grew the deficit to double digits.

Franklin County trailed 28-11 at halftime.

The Rebelettes more than doubled their point total in the third quarter, but they would only be able to shave off a few points from the deficit.

They trailed 42-27 going into the final period.

The deficit was steady throughout the fourth quarter as the Rebelettes went on to lose by 15 points.

Baylor Russell led the Rebelettes with 12 points for the game, followed by Madison King and Katie Walker with eight points each.

Shayla Kennerly scored four points and Na’Kayjah Holman scored three.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 7-15 on the season and 0-4 in district play.

They will next play Tuesday at Coffee County Central High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
