JACKIE BAKER

 BAKER, Jackie “Doc,” age 80, of Winchester, Tennessee, departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at his residence.  Mr. Baker was born in Harvey, Illinois, on March 16, 1942, to the late Robert Murrell Baker and Connie Fulmer Baker.  He was of the Church of Christ faith.  He was a 1960 graduate of Franklin County High School.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany two years after his enlistment.  He was employed for several years as a radio announcer for WCDT and stations in Smithville and Springfield.  He studied drafting and then attended MTSU and received his B.S. degree in engineering.  He was employed in Huntsville at Northrop Grumman, Martin Marietta Materials, Redstone Arsenal and AEDC in Tullahoma as well.  He was a very talented musician and played numerous musical instruments.  He enjoyed entertaining people and making them laugh.  He was quite the comedian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Baker; brothers, Jimmy baker and Lynn Baker; and sisters, Geraldine Neal and Dorothy Baker.  He is survived by his son, Jack Brian Baker and wife, Misty of Decherd, Tennessee; sisters, Joyce Grant and husband, Wayne of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Gwen Wilkerson and husband Sterling of Cowan, Tennessee; and companion, Randi. A celebration of life service is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Visitation with the family will be held from 1-2 p.m. Sunday evening prior to the service in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services.
