HALL, Jerry

Franklin “Nooner”, age 90, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, April 3, 2026, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Hall was born in Haleyville, Alabama, on June 27, 1935, to the late Isaac Matthew Hall and Mary Gladys Arnold Hall. Mr. Hall was a 1953 graduate of Franklin County High School and was Captain of the football team. He then attended Martin Methodist College where he played basketball. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country before being honorably discharged. Mr. Hall was also a 55-year member of Winchester Masonic Lodge No. 158, and a dedicated member of the Methodist faith. He was an avid golfer and one of the early members and past president of the Franklin County Country Club. He was a “born salesman” and former owner of Hall Furniture Store established in 1949 in Winchester before handing the business over to his children and grandchildren. He was one of the founding members of the Tennessee Buying Group, an organi zation established to help independent furniture retailers increase their buying power, and remain competitive. He was a true “people person” who never met a stranger. He will be remembered most for his love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Weddington Hall; brother, Elbert Hall; and son-in-law, Duane Stevens. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Stevens of Winchester; son, Mitch Hall and wife, Joetta, also of Winchester; grandchildren, Carlie Gaby and husband Andrew of Winchester, Ryan Pitocco and fiancée Cassandra Castleberry of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Chloe Hall of Knoxville, Tenn.; three greatgrandchildren, Langley and Gunner Gaby and Ava Castleberry; siblings, Don Hall, Patsy Roddy and husband Thomas, all of Winchester, and Glenda Hill of Christiana, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
