Monroe, Bishop get school admin promotions

The Franklin County School _L District has announced that two seasoned educators have been promoted to administrative leadership roles.
Dr. Amanda Monroe has been named assistant principal of curriculum and instruction at Franklin County High School while Michelle Bishop has been appointed assistant principal at Decherd Elementary School.
These appointments reflect the district’s commitment to academic excellence and leadership stability, according to a press release from the School System.
Monroe joins the administrative team at FCHS with 17 years of diverse classroom experience spanning middle schools, high schools and junior colleges.
As the new assistant principal of curriculum and instruction, Monroe will oversee the academic framework and instructional strategies that drive student achievement.
Throughout her career, Monroe has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a department chair and faculty advisor, the press release said, adding that her dedication to the profession was recently recognized with a 2025 nomination for the prestigious LifeChanger of the Year Award, highlighting her ability to build strong rapport with colleagues and foster student success.
Monroe is characterized by her high expectations and a genuine passion for lifelong learning, the press release said.
Michelle Bishop brings 23 years of specialized experience, all with Franklin County Schools, to Decherd Elementary.
Her background includes roles as a responseto intervention coach, learning-loss coordinator and classroom teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. Her career has been defined by a passion for empowering teachers and ensuring student-centered decision-making.
The DES community welcomes Bishop’s leadership and her studentsfi rst philosophy, the press release said.
