The South Middle School Trojans lost to the Coffee County Raiders 46-21 at North Middle Tuesday in a quarterfinal game for the Central Tennessee Conference tournament.

A majority of the deficit was created in the first half as the Trojans were not able to bounce back from the sizable disadvantage they faced early.

Odeviyon Poe hit a 3-pointer for the Trojans’ only points in the opening period as they quickly found themselves trailing by double digits.

They trailed 15-3 after one quarter.

The Raiders continued to add to their lead in the second quarter as the Trojans weren’t able to make up any ground early.

South trailed 25-8 at halftime.

Both teams had their best offensive periods in the third quarter as the Trojans more than doubled their point total but still continued to lose ground on the scoreboard. Carson Moore scored seven of South’s 10 points in the third quarter.

They trailed 44-18 going into the final period.

The Trojans allowed just two points in the fourth quarter, but they only scored three points of their own on the other end of the court as they went on to lose by 25 points.

Moore led the Trojans with 10 points for the game, followed by Poe with five points and Levi Lindsey and Kaveon Sutton with three points each.

With the loss, the Trojans finished their season with a record of 3-14.
