Rebelettes rout Cascade in home matchup

The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Cascade Lady Champions 67-44 at home Tuesday for their ninth win of the season.

The Rebelettes took a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they steadily pulled away for a blowout victory.

The Rebelettes closed out the opening period on a 14-3 run to create some early separation on the scoreboard that would remain for the rest of the day.

They led 18-8 after one quarter.

The Rebelettes added a few more points to their lead in the second quarter as they continued to outpace the Lady Champions early. Madison King scored eight of Franklin County’s 14 points in the second quarter.

Franklin County led 32-17 at halftime.

The third quarter would play out in a similar fashion to the first two with the Rebelettes driving their advantage up to an even 20 points. Katie Walker scored 12 of Franklin County’s 19 points in the third quarter.

They led 51-31 going into the final period.

The Rebelettes didn’t allow any ground to be made up in the fourth quarter as their final lead settled at 23 points.

Walker led the Rebelettes with 18 points for the game, followed by King with 16 points and Baylor Russell with 14.

Na’Kayjah Holman scored 11 points, Shayla Kennerly scored four, Aahna Carter scored three and Josie Davis scored one.

With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 9-16 on the season.

They will next play Friday at Fayetteville City High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
