Rebelettes top Fayetteville in road contest

The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Fayetteville Lady Tigers 62-50 on the road Friday for their 10th win of the season.
The Rebelettes led for a majority of the game and pulled away midway through the second half to pick up their third straight victory to end the regular season.
The Rebelettes scored the first 12 points of the game, but the Lady Tigers responded with a 10-2 run of their own to tighten the score early.
Franklin County led 14-10 after one quarter.
The Rebelettes were able to stay in front throughout the second quarter despite the Lady Tigers cutting the lead down to a single point on multiple occasions. Mikah Brannon scored 12 of Franklin County’s 21 points in the second quarter.
Franklin County led 35-30 at halftime.
The lead changed hands four times in the third quarter before the Rebelettes ended the period with 10 straight points to take control of the game.
They led 51-42 going into the final period.
The Rebelettes didn’t allow any ground to be made up in the fourth quarter as they added a few more points to their lead and went on to win by 12.
Shayla Kennerly led the Rebelettes with 18 points for the game, followed by Brannon with 12 points and Na’Kayjah Holman with 11.
Danica Stovall scored 10 points, Katie Walker scored six and Baylor Russell scored five.
With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 10-16 on the season.
They will next play Monday at Coffee County Central High School in a semifinal game for the District 6-4A tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
