The match would end with about 1:43 remaining in the third round as Watson scored a reversal to give Marin the loss via a 17-1 technical fall.

Marin’s next match came in the consolation semifinals against Cleveland’s Dylan Harrold with a spot in the state tournament on the line.

Harrold expanded his lead with an escape, a takedown and a three-point nearfall in the second round to put Marin behind by a score of 10-1.

Marin added one more point to his tally with an escape in the third round, but Harrold continued to pull away with two more takedown and a two-point nearfall to give Marin a loss via a 16-2 major decision to end his tournament run.
