Rabies clinics to be held next three weekends

Franklin County Animal Control, in conjunction with local veterinarians, Dr. Traci Helton and staff from Midtown Veterinary Services and Hospital as well as Drs. George and Ashley Bowers and staff from Animal Care Center, will be conducting clinics the first three Saturdays of this month.

In addition to the scheduled community clinics listed below, each of the four local veterinary offices, including Town & Country and Lakeside Veterinary Clinic, will be offering walk-in rabies vaccinations to any healthy dog or cat during their regular office hours at the discounted price of $15 per dog or cat.

No appointment is necessary, but a call to their business may speed up the process.

The Tennessee Anti-Rabies Law states that dogs and cats may be vaccinated as early as three months of age and must be vaccinated by six months of age to be compliant with the law. Everyone is urged to take advantage of the discount.

Rabies clinics will be set up at the following community centers, churches and parks across the county in an effort to be more accessible to those residents and their pets.

Anyone with questions about the Franklin County rabies clinics can call 931-967-5389 or call one of the county veterinary offices.
