March 17

Saint Patrick’s Day at SJCC

Everyone is invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center in Tullahoma on Friday featuring fun for the entire family including a kids’ treasure hunt, Irish food, green beer, a full bar and live entertainment. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with live Celtic music and food. Main-stage entertainment starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students age 11-17 and $8 for ages 10 and younger. Saint Patrick’s Day at Senior Center

Enjoy games, prizes and refreshments at the Saint Patrick’s Day celebration on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Franklin County Senior Center, 74 Clover Dr., Winchester.

Flick ‘n’ Float

All middle and high school students are welcome to attend a free flick ‘n’ float event at the Winchester Swimplex on Friday from 7-9 p.m. The event will feature food, fun and a flick. First-come, first-serve with a 75-swimmer limit. No extra-large floats will be allowed.

Rabies clinics

Rabies clinics will be held Saturday at Bethel Methodist Church in the Broadview community from 8:30-9:45 a.m.; Lexie Church in the Lexie Crossroads community from 10:15-11 a.m.; Church of Jesus Christ (old school) in the Winchester Springs community from 1:30-2:15 p.m.; and the Center Grove Community Center from 2:30-4 p.m. Cost is $15 each. In addition, local veterinary offices are offering walk-in rabies vaccinations to any healthy dog or cat during their regular office hours at the discounted price of $15 per dog or cat.  No appointment is necessary, but a call to their business may speed up the process.

St. Patrick’s Extravaganza

A St. Patrick’s Extravaganza will be held on Saturday at the Rotary Park and Amphitheatre located at 557 N. Woodland St. in Manchester. This free, family-friendly event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature live music, craft vendors, food trucks, games, beer, ax-throwing and more.

Stories to Songs Workshop

Everyone is invited to attend a Stories to Songs Workshop on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Franklin County Library, 105 S. Porter St., Winchester. Marilyn Harris will provide live music.

Food Truck Frenzy

Everyone is invited to Tims Ford State Park, 570 Tims Ford Dr., Winchester, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to participate in judging food vendors to help decide which food trucks you most want to see at park events this year. Cost to judge the food is $10 per ticket. Enjoy live music and other product vendors as well as a full day of programs at the park’s Nature Center.

Benefit jam

A benefit jam will be held Sunday at noon at Monterey Station in Cowan featuring live music, beer, food and a silent auction. Proceeds go to Dr. Jay and Stacey who recently lost their home in a fire.

March 21

Spring Soiree

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 73rd annual membership award banquet called the Spring Soiree Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Monterey Station, 104 Monterey St., in Cowan. Wine-tasting, hosted by Beans Creek Winery, and social hour starts at 5 p.m. followed by dinner, the program and awards at 6 p.m. Cost is $75 per person. Get tickets by calling 931-967-6788.

ABC’s of Medicare

SCHRA meeting

The South Central Resource Agency Governing Board meets on March 23 at 11 a.m. at the SCHRA Central Office in Fayetteville. Subcommittees will meet at 10 a.m.

Republican Ladies’ Auxiliary

The Franklin County Republican Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet on March 23 at 10:30 a.m. at SUNRISE (The Breakfast Place) in Decherd. Sandy Schultz, member of the Franklin County School Board, will provide an update on the search for a school director. If a director is named prior to the meeting, he or she will be invited. The Auxiliary’s newly elected FCRP officers will be introduced. All interested women are welcome. This event will be Dutch treat.

Father Daughter Dance

The United Way of Franklin County Father Daughter Dance will be held on March 25 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Monterey Station in Cowan. Photos begin at 4 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person on sale at Citizens Community Bank in Winchester. Only 400 tickets will be sold.

March 29

Women’s History Month

The University of Tennessee Space Institute will hold a Women’s History Month celebration on March 29 at 10 a.m. in the UTSI auditorium, 411 B.H. Goethert Parkway, Tullahoma. Chandra Alston, vice president of human resources for the UT Health Science Center, will be the guest speaker. A reception will follow. This is a free event and is open to the public.

Potluck

Bring a favorite dish to share at the potluck lunch on March 30 at 11 a.m. at the Franklin County Senior Center, 74 Clover Dr., Winchester.
