Father Daughter Dance

The United Way of Franklin County Father Daughter Dance will be held Saturday from 6-8:30 p.m. at Monterey Station in Cowan. Photos begin at 4 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person on sale at Citizens Community Bank in Winchester. Only 400 tickets will be sold.

Household hazardous waste

Franklin County Solid Waste will hold its household hazardous waste disposal day Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 419 Joyce Lane, Winchester. Bring all your paint, chemicals, cleaners, fluorescent bulbs and other hazardous waste for disposal. Call 931-967-1139 for details.

Women’s History Month

The University of Tennessee Space Institute will hold a Women’s History Month celebration Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the UTSI auditorium, 411 B.H. Goethert Parkway, Tullahoma. Chandra Alston, vice president of human resources at the UT Health Science Center, will be the guest speaker. A reception will follow. This is a free event and is open to the public.

Potluck

Bring a favorite dish to share at the potluck lunch on March 30 at 11 a.m. at the Franklin County Senior Center, 74 Clover Dr., Winchester.

April 1

Community egg hunt

A community Easter egg hunt, hosted by the Estill Springs Nazarene Church, will be held on April 1 at 11 a.m. at Estill Springs Park featuring 300 prizes. Enjoy a free lunch along with door prizes. Everyone is welcome.

Chili supper/silent auction

A chili supper benefit will be held for police officer Dustin Pate on April 1 at 5 p.m. at the Capitol Hill Community Center, 5601 AEDC Road, Estill Springs. Cost is $10 for chili, dessert and drink. A silent auction will also be held. Proceeds will assist Pate’s family with medical expenses associated with a kidney transplant. Donations may also be made by Venmo to @BrittanyPate.

Decherd Potato Festival

The Decherd Potato Festival will be held April 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 200 East Main St., Decherd, featuring a parade, bands, a seed swap, axe-throwing, a kids zone, a recipe contest, food trucks, a silent auction and vendors. Visit the event’s page on Facebook.

70s dance

A 70s dance will be held at the Franklin County Senior Center, 74 Clover Dr., Winchester, on April 1 from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $5. Wear your 70’s attire. The public is welcome to attend.

First Saturdays

First Saturdays kicks off for the season on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with vendors selling their wares around the Fayetteville downtown square.

Franklin County preschool registration

Franklin County preschool applications will be accepted on April 4 from 1-5 p.m. at the school that parents wish their child to attend in the 2023-24 school year. The child must be 4 years old by Aug. 15 to apply. Bring a birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record and current physical report, proof of residency (utility bill, rent receipt, etc.) and proof of income (2022 W-2’s or tax return preferred or last three consecutive pay stubs showing gross income or letter of food-stamp proof.) Pet Wellness & Awareness Fair

A Pet Wellness and Awareness Fair will be held April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at Animal Harbor, 56 Nor-Nan Road, Winchester. Cost to spay and neuter is $20 and rabies shots are $5 (services not performed on site). Free canine and feline vaccines, free pet pantry food by need, free education and more. Mountain Goat Trail Race

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Expo and Marketplace on April 13 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Monterey Station, located at 104 Monterey St. in Cowan. The public is invited. Fish fry

The Broadview Volunteer Fire Department will host a fundraiser fish fry on April 15 from 1-5 p.m. at the fire station, located at 5253 Lynchburg Road in Winchester. Plates include fish, fries, chicken, beans, slaw, hush puppies, dessert and drink. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children ages 5 and younger are free. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 for their 50/50 raffle drawing.

Night in Little Italy

The Decherd Knights of Columbus will host their famous Night in Little Italy spaghetti dinner on April 15 from 5-7 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Church Parish Center, 2037 Decherd Blvd., Decherd. The dinner will be served on china plates and will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, drinks and homemade desserts. Adult tickets are $10 and children younger than 12 are $5. All are welcome to eat in or take out.

Fish fry

The Belvidere firemen’s fish fry will be held on April 29 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring all-you-can-eat at the Belvidere Community Center, 349 Belvidere Road, Belvidere. The event will be held indoors and will include fish, barbecue chicken, chicken strips, hush puppies, fries, baked beans, slaw, drinks and homemade desserts. Cost is $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-12 and free for ages 3 and younger. Enjoy live bluegrass music featuring the Sims Family, Chuck Holcomb, The Old Time Christians, Journey Home and Final Crossing.
