The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the White House Blue Devils 14-1 at the StarPlex in Murfreesboro Saturday in their fourth and final game for the Southern Warrior Classic.
The Blue Devils scored multiple runs in four of the game’s five innings to steadily pull away as the Rebelettes finished the event with a record of 0-4.
The Blue Devils put up four runs in the first inning, three in the second and another four in the third to quickly put the Rebelettes behind by a score of 11-0.
The Rebelettes appeared to get on the board in the bottom of the third when Carissa Montgomery hit a two-run home run. However, the umpires ruled that lead runner Destin Milner didn’t touch home plate on the play, nullifying both runs and ending the inning.
The Blue Devils scored three more runs in the top of the fifth to make it a 14-0 game late.
The Rebelettes were able to avoid the shutout as Mollye Casey walked, moved to second on a bunt single by Paislie Edge and scored off of an error on the same play, but that would be all for their offense as they lost by 13.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 1-8 on the season.
Hazel Green 13, Rebelettes 1
The Rebelettes lost to the Hazel Green Lady Trojans at McKnight Park in Murfreesboro Saturday in their third game for the Southern Warrior Classic.
The Rebelettes were held hitless in the contest as they weren’t able to overcome a sizable early deficit created by the Lady Trojans.
The Lady Trojans put up four runs in the top of the first inning to quickly take the lead in the contest.
The Rebelettes scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the first as they loaded the bases when Jocilyn DeSmet drew a walk, Carissa Montgomery reached base on an error and Kaitlyn Montgomery got hit by a pitch before Kaylee Morris hit into an RBI groundout to put the score at 4-1.
However, the Lady Trojans got that run back in the top of the second and scored another four times in the top of the third to grow the deficit to 9-1.
The Lady Trojans added on another run in the top of the fourth and three runs in the fifth to push the deficit up to double digits as the Rebelettes ultimately lost by 12.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 1-7 on the season.
They will next play Monday at Tullahoma High School. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
