Reduced adoption fee

The Bissell Pet Foundation is sponsoring reduced adoption fees of $50 or less during their “Empty the Shelters” adoption event through Monday at Animal Harbor in Winchester. Visit animalharbor.org or call 931-962-4472.

Plant and bake sale

The Franklin County Garden Club’s plant sale/auction and bake sale will be held Friday from 1-4 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 839 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester.

May 13

USPS food drive

The United States Postal Service will hold a food drive Saturday. Simply hang a bag of non-perishable food on your mailbox and the mail carriers will collect it. All food donated stays in Franklin County.

One Day Community Outreach

Everyone is welcome to attend the One Day Community Outreach event on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at First United Methodist and First Baptist churches of Winchester. Free services include medical, dental and vision screenings, haircuts, family portraits, food boxes and more. For information, call 931-967-2121.

Double Steak Showdown

The Tims Ford Double Steak Showdown will be held on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. at the Winchester City Park, 1561 Phillip Fulmer Pkwy., Winchester. For more information, call 931-308-7326.

HOTH Cruise-In

The Franklin County Kiwanis High on the Hog Festival will hold a cruise-in on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Winchester City Park.

HOTH Craft Fair

Kiwanis of Franklin County is accepting vendors for their High on the Hog Craft Fair set for Saturday at Winchester City Park by the Red Roof Pavilion starting at 9 a.m.

HOTH Cornhole

The High on the Hog Cornhole Tournament will be held on Saturday with signups at 9 a.m. at Winchester City Park. For information, call Traci at 931-691-7356.

Huntland City Council

Huntland City Council meets Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Huntland Community Center.

HOTH Festival

A commodity food distribution will be held for Franklin County residents only on May 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 1041 Wilton Circle, Winchester.

FCHS graduation

Franklin County High School’s graduation ceremony will be held on May 19.

Fish fry

A fish fry will be held on May 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Decherd Masonic Lodge #567, 101 Mary Sharp Dr., Decherd.

Open house

Pioneer Motorcycles, 962 AEDC Road, Winchester, will hold its annual open house and swap meet on May 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Used motorcycles will be up for raffle, and there will be door prizes, special pricing, food trucks and more.

May 21

100th anniversary

Everyone is invited to celebrate Cowan Elementary School’s 100th anniversary on May 21 from 2-4 p.m. at the school where a time capsule will be on display.

Memorial Day

Area residents are urged to attend the annual Memorial Day service on May 29 at 10 a.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum Gardens located on Cowan Highway in Winchester.

June 3

FCHS reunion

The Franklin County High School Class of 1973 will hold its 50-year reunion on June 3 from 7-11 p.m. at the Franklin County Country Club featuring food and a DJ.
