HILL, Jessica Marie Pattie, age 29, of Cowan, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester, on June 7, 1993. A dedicated homemaker, she cherished the time spent with her family, but most of all her beloved children. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music and playing softball. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Randall Pattie II. Jessica is survived by her loving children, Natalie Keough, Briley Sells and Bentley Hill; parents, Randy and Lynn Pattie; brothers, Robert Pattie and Christopher Pattie; nephews, Kaidan Byers and Milo Pattie; and niece, Jasmine Pattie. CHARLES STUBBLEFIELD
STUBBLEFIELD, Charles Edward, age 93, of Estill Springs, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Sherwood, on Dec. 28, 1929, to the late William M. and Lorane (Stewart) Stubblefield. Before his retirement he had been employed as a crane operator for Ford Motor Company. Charles enjoyed mowing his yard and vegetable and flower gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Tommie Elizabeth Stubblefield; siblings, Hazel, Bernice, Clyde, Henry, Sybil and William “Dee”; and fur baby, Izzi. Charles is survived by his children, Pam (Jeff) Kalivoda and Jeff (Kathy) Stubblefield; Gran of Jennifer (Jeff) Jakubowski, Amanda (Alyssa) Kalivoda-Cloud, Kevin (Tammy) Kalivoda, Melissa (Wesley) Ybarra, Ben Stubblefield and Krystal and Amanda Stawychey; Great-Gran of Ellie, Owen, Callie and Ady; and many nieces, nephews, friends and other family. WANDA JOHNSON
JOHNSON, Wanda Faye, age 86, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at her residence while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Madison, Alabama, on June 24, 1936, to the late Robert and Ethal (Satterfield) Winkles. Faye was a 1958 graduate of Butler High School. She then graduated from Tennessee Valley Vocational Trade School in May of 1960, with a degree in nursing. On Sept. 16, 1960, she married the love of her life, Virgil Johnson. Before her retirement, she had been employed at Crestwood Hospital. Faye enjoyed sitting on the front porch with her dog, Penny, watching the birds, especially red birds, eat. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Johnson; daughter, Yvonne Bayless; and sister, Glenda Mae Tucker. Faye is survived by her loving children, Donna Louise Haney, Jamie Jo (Johnny) Bond and Thomas Edward Johnson, all of Huntsville, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. JIM HEATH
HEATH, Jim R., age 70, of Tullahoma, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. He was born in Syracuse, New York, on Dec. 10, 1952, to the late Edward and Minnie (Clemons) Heath. Jim served his country in the United States Marines Corp as well as the Tennessee National Guard. Before his retirement, he had been employed as a truck driver. Growing up, Jim had been on wrestling and football teams in high school and continued to love the sports as well as reading today. He cherished the time spent with his beloved family and the caring staff at the Life Care Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Heath and sisters, Faith Ann Mautz and Vickey Heath. Jim is survived by his loving children, William Heath of Decherd, Matthew Heath and Kathy Heath, both of North Carolina; step-daughter, Misty McCarty of McMinnville; brother, Randy Heath; grandchildren, Ty, Trey, Taylor (Breanna), Devin and Kameron; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Jean-Marie Heath; and niece, Tracy Lynn. LOUISE TAYLOR
TAYLOR, Louise, age 87, a resident of Winchester, for 48 years, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. She was born in Slocomb, Alabama, on July 15, 1935, to the late John and Ruby Chesser. Louise was raised in Georgia, one of 15 children, and often babysat her siblings and helped keep house. At an early age, she began working; her first being at M.C. Crory’s 5 & 10 in Columbus. She married the love of her life, Marvin Taylor, when she was 17 years old. Louise was not only a pastor’s wife, but she also worked as a clerk at Hammer’s Department Store and at the Corner House in Cowan. She was a faithful member of Christian Tabernacle, Wings of Hope (served as historian), and Widow’s Might (served as prayer chairman). She also taught Sunday school for years, founding the “Overcomers” and “Conquerors” classes. Louise cherished her beloved family and had a good life, always putting the Lord first and living by her motto: “Jesus never fails.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Marvin Taylor; brothers, Charles Chesser, Venice Chesser and Ray Chesser; sisters, Kay Sabens and Sheila Chesser; and special daughter, Gail Sanders. Louise is survived by her loving children, Pastor Ricky (Regina) Taylor and Nancy Taylor; grandchildren, Andrea (John) Watson, Amanda (Dewayne) Richardson, Reshae (Jeremy) Frame, Kayleen Steele, Martha Wenger and Tabitha Wade; great-grandchildren, Ethan Watson, Evan Watson, Deanna Lightner, Joshua Lightner, Kaison Brimhall, Andrew Richardson, Daisy Richardson, Maddux Richardson, Jeremiah Frame, Brandon Wenger, Isaiah Wenger, Ella Wenger, Jacob Wade and Jimmy Wade; special daughter, Vanessa Steele; and siblings, Clayton (Sissy) Chesser, Neal Chesser, Debra Chesser, Windell (Cheryl) Chesser, Johnny (Judy) Chesser, Dale Chesser and Susan (John) Daley. DAVIS, William “Bill” Blanton, age 92, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Tullahoma. He was born in Alabama, on Jan. 1, 1931, to the late Blanton and Katie (Hudson) Davis. Bill served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He later worked and retired from Tennessee Elk River Development Agency as a project manager. After his retirement, Bill enjoyed the time working on his farm. He was a founding member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Hittson, Annie Northcutt and Wilma Luttrell. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Sadie Davis of Winchester; daughter, Deta M. (Bill) Green of Winchester; grandchildren, Jennifer (Colton) McClellan of Chattanooga, Billy Green (Dina Morse) of Dalton, Georgia, and Kaitlin (Joel) Champion of Greenbrier; and great-grandchildren, Aubry, Kimber, Piper and Tinsley Champion. GIPSON, Alana Claire, infant daughter of Duston and Hannah (Loudermilk) Gipson, earned her angel wings on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Braxton Gipson, Paezlie Gipson and Brynley Gipson; grandparents, Connie Blackwell of Estill Springs, Terry Gipson of Winchester, Rebecca Loudermilk of Winchester, and Don Womack of Murfreesboro; and several aunts and uncles. NORRIS, Emma Etta, age 99, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, at The Waters of Winchester. A native of Franklin County, she was born on Aug. 3, 1923, in Winchester, to the late Fred and Argie (Snoddy) Durm. Emma had been employed at the Cowan Shoe Factory and Hammer’s Department Store, as well as being a devoted farmer’s wife and helping on the farm as needed. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and crafts, but most of all cherished the time spent with her beloved family. She was a dedicated member of Harmony Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Norris; sons, H.B. Norris and Ronald Bland Norris; and siblings, Mary, Edward, Mildred and Claude. Emma is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Mary Sue Norris of Winchester; grandchildren, Susan (Trent) Loman, Ronnie (April) Norris and Pam (Matt) Kreidenweis; great-grandchildren, Willow Reader, Sam Oliver, Alexis Loman, Caleb (Sophie) Norris, Kylee (Cole) Stovall, Cole Norris, Kyle Kreidenweis, Nathan Kreidenweis and Matthew Kreidenweis; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 9-11 a.m. at Harmony Cumberland Presbyterian Church followed by services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Caleb Norris officiating. Interment was held in the Harmony Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with her great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.
