SJCC set to host series of Friday night concerts
If you’re looking for some great, local entertainment, look no further than the South Jackson Civic Center, 404 S. Jackson St., Tullahoma.
Each year, the Civic Center entertains and educates with a variety of programs for the community including their upcoming Friday night outdoor concerts. Grab a chair and join in the fun of these concerts coming up on the courtyard stage at the SJCC.
Friday night concerts include: Rock Creek Bluegrass today at 7 p.m., Lee Gibson on May 26 at 7 p.m., Salem Creek on June 9 at 7 p.m. and the Stan Allen Band on June 30 at 7 p.m.
Other upcoming shows include the International Folk Fest on June 6 at 7 p.m., Broadway Review from June 15-18 and Midsummer Night’s Dream from June 22-24.

In addition to the aforementioned concerts, other programs at SJCC include its Educational Outreach Series for schools, Performing Arts Series, South Jackson Goes Country, dance recitals, festivals on the grounds and an ice-cream social.
In addition, SJCC’s Mitchell Museum includes exhibits that pertain to Tullahoma’s local city and area history.
The SJCC was formed in 1977 to “Save South Jackson,” a grassroots effort to halt the destruction of the South Jackson School.
Nestled in the core of the building is Tullahoma’s first public school, built in 1886. The South Jackson Civic Center opened its doors in January 1979 with its first performance.
The South Jackson Civic Association has operated for the past 40 years as a presenting organization, museum and community resource serving the Middle Tennessee counties of Franklin, Coffee, Moore, Bedford and Warren.
The Civic Center contains rehearsal facilities, conference and meeting rooms, a 400-seat auditorium, a full stage with a proscenium arch and the local history museum.
