Lynchburg Jamboree
Everyone is invited to Lynchburg Jamboree every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. on the Lynchburg Square.
Prenatal classes
Prenatal classes will be held on July 11 and Aug. 15 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. Classes are free, but registration is required by calling 931-393-7938.
Free food distribution sites
The following locations offer free food to all those in need: Abundant Life Church, 3310 Cowan Hwy., Winchester, on the second Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m.; First Baptist Church, 218 N. Main St., Estill Springs, on the second Saturday of each month from 9-10 a.m.; First Baptist Church, 108 S. High St., Winchester, on the first Saturday of each month in February, May, August and November; Campora Resource Center, 900 S. Shepherd St., Winchester, every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m.; Huntland United Methodist Church, 108 Methodist Ave., Huntland, on the third Saturday of the month at 2 p.m.; Good Samaritan Ministries, 1725 Decherd Blvd., Decherd, Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; The Table, 106 Roger St., Cowan, every Saturday from 3-7 p.m.; Journey Church, 916 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester, every third Thursday.

AlAnon meetings for family members or friends struggling with problem drinkers are held on Thursdays at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Jefferson St., Winchester. Full Moon Healing Project
Anyone who has experienced any type of abuse such as domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking or who is struggling with mental health issues or substance abuse may attend the Full Moon Healing Project group meetings held each Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Campora Family Resource Center, 900 S. Free fishing
Tennessee’s 2023 Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day is Saturday in Tennessee, allowing all state residents and visitors of any age to fish free without a license in Tennessee’s public waters. Additionally, children ages 15 or younger may fish free the entire week, beginning on Free Fishing Day and continuing through the following Friday, June 16.

Junior Ranger Camp
A Junior Ranger Camp for 6-8-year-olds will be held June 12-16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Nature Center inside Tims Ford State Park. Campers will learn about a variety of outdoor topics and skills. Cost is $70 and will include a T-shirt, drawstring bag, snacks and activities. Space is limited. The Broadview Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual community meeting Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the fire department station located at 5253 Lynchburg Road, Winchester. The public is encouraged to attend.

A Juneteenth Festival will be held on June 17 at the Bedford County Courthouse Square beginning with a memorial walk at 7 a.m. at Woodfork Chapel AME Church, 1011 Lipscomb St. Shelbyville, followed by a parade at 10 a.m., contests, vendors, food trucks, entertainment and more. The Spirit of America Youth Boating Camp will be held June 19-23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for 12-15-year-olds at the recreation hall located inside Tims Ford State Park. Students will learn water safety, receive a Tennessee boating license and experience three days of water training with multiple types of boats. Space is limited. Cost is $85. Franklin County AM Rotary will hold a Boston butt sale on July 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with pickup in the Franklin County Annex building parking lot at 829 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. Cost is $50 each (average size 11 pounds pre-cook). Proceeds benefit the FCHS Interact Club.

Twin Creeks Marina and the City of Winchester will host their Fourth of July Thunder over the Lake fireworks show viewable from the Winchester City Park or from a boat on the lake at dusk on July 4.
Sewanee Fourth of July
