Tims Ford State Park in Winchester will be offering a variety of boat tours this weekend with the Perseids meteor shower set to light up the sky over Tennessee during that period.

The following adventures are open to the public and are guided by park staff. Register in advance at reserve.tnstateparks.com.as some events have a capacity limit and a fee.

Aug. 11

Pontoon tour

Meet at Lakeview Marina located inside Tims Ford State Park on Friday at 10 a.m. for an hour-long scenic boat tour of Tims Ford Lake. Cost is $15 for children ages 16 and younger and $20 for adults.

Perseids pontoon tour

Join in for an hour-long Perseids pontoon tour at Tims Ford State Park to watch the Perseids meteor shower on Friday at 9 p.m. Meet at Lakeview Marina inside Tims Ford State Park. Cost is $20.

Aug. 12

Sunrise Perseids kayak tour

Meet at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Fairview camp store inside Tims Ford State Park for a two-hour boat tour during the Perseids meteor shower. Cost is $35.

Photography presentation

Join Richard Gross on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Nature Center at Tims Ford State Park for an exciting nature-photography slideshow and program. Cost is $2 per person.

Pontoon tour

Meet at Lakeview Marina located inside Tims Ford State Park on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. p.m. for an hour-long scenic boat tour of Tims Ford Lake. Cost is $15 for children ages 16 and younger and $20 for adults.
