Lynchburg Jamboree
Everyone is invited to the Lynchburg Jamboree every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. on the Lynchburg Square.

NA meetings

AlAnon meetings
AlAnon meetings for family members or friends struggling with problem drinkers are held on Thursdays at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 S. Jefferson St., Winchester. In Tullahoma, meetings are held at Serenity House, 313 Collins Ave., Tullahoma, on Mondays at 7 p.m. 931-327-2165.

Full Moon Healing Project
Anyone who has experienced any type of abuse such as domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking or who is struggling with mental health issues or substance abuse may attend the Full Moon Healing Project group meetings held each Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Campora Family Resource Center, 900 S. Farmers Markets
The Franklin County Farmers Market is in full swing with local farmers offering their goods each Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon at 817 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester. Some vendors are also there on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 7 a.m. In addition, a farmers market is held at the Franklin County Senior Center, 74 Clover Dr. in Winchester, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to noon.
TN Camp Thrive
Tennessee Camp Thrive in Franklin County is looking for 30 committed children ages 9-12 and their families to participate in their year-long day camp that will provide social activities, leadership lessons as well as fun outings. Camp is held one Saturday each month. For information call 931-800-9112. This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee.

Grocery tax holiday
Tennessee’s 2023 grocery tax holiday on food and food ingredients is underway and runs through Oct. 31. Liquor is not included.
Aug. 18
Art show reception
The newest community show at the Artisan Depot features the work of local artists addressing the theme of “What Happened to Summer.” A reception will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the gallery, 204 Cumberland St. East, Cowan. Debate
The Franklin County Republican Party is hosting the showing of the first Republican presidential debate at the Oldham Theatre Wednesday at 8 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A straw poll will be taken. There is no charge, but donations are welcome and the concession stand will be open.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Aug. 25 from 1-7 p.m. at Winchester Church of Christ, 1230 S. College St., Winchester.

Bone drop

Farm to Table
Everyone is invited to join in for the 2023 Farm to Table dinner on Aug. 26 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. presented by the Winchester Downtown Program and Nearest Green Distillery. Dinner will be prepared by Jim Jilaroski using locally sourced food to prepare a four-course meal. The event will include a silent auction and other entertainment. It will be held in historic downtown Winchester at 135 First Ave. NW, Winchester. Tickets are $125-$200 and are available at eventbrite.com.

Family reunion
Descendants of William Andrew Limbaugh (1876-1938) and his wife, Mary Virginia “Jennie” Counts (1881-1920,) invite all relations to join them at the Walnut Grove Gym for a family reunion on Sept. 2 starting at 10 a.m. Bring your favorite dish and a drink to share. Pet wellness clinic
Animal Harbor will provide a pet wellness clinic with free vaccines, pet food by need, reduced-fee spay/neuter (not performed on site) and reduced-fee rabies shots and other services for community pets on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at Animal Harbor, 56 Nor-Nan Road. September’s clinic will be held on Sept. 9. Proof of residency in Franklin County as well as proof of income will be required. Nov. 4
Animal Harbor Goes Hollywood
Everyone is invited to dress as a favorite movie character and join in for a star-studded fundraising night, “Animal Harbor Goes Hollywood” on Nov. 4 from 6-9 p.m. at Monterey Station in Cowan. Activities include an exclusive cigar-and-whiskey porch, red-carpet photos, DJ music through the decades, swing-dance demonstrations and fancy food stations. Cost is $65 each, $85 with a T-shirt, $130 for couples and $170 for couples and two T-shirts. VIP tables are $550 for eight tickets and VIP experience. Proceeds go to Animal Harbor’s mission.
