Trojans rout Highland Rim in road matchup

The South Middle School Trojans beat the Highland Rim Hornets 38-8 on the road Tuesday for their third win of the season.

The Trojans put up five touchdowns in the contest while allowing just one touchdown on the other side of the ball as they steadily outpaced the Hornets to move their record for the season back above .500.

South quarterback Levi Lindsey tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the victory with Jacoba Fells and Brennan Taylor each catching one of those scoring throws. Fells also contributed a two-point conversion in the game.

Jonah Holt rushed for two touchdowns in the contest and also scored a pair of two-point conversions.

Kaveon Sutton rounded out the overall scoring efforts for the Trojans as he ran for a touchdown and scored on a two-point conversion attempt.

With the win, the Trojans improved to 3-2 on the season.

They will next play Tuesday at home against South Lincoln Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
