The Franklin County Middle Rebelettes beat the Mt. Juliet Golden Bears 1-0 on the road Monday for their sixth win of the season.

The Rebelettes got the lone goal they needed in the first half with their defense recording its fifth shutout of the year to secure the victory.

FC Middle head soccer coach Matthew Parkerson said that his team put together an amazing performance with good play all across the field.

Vivian Baggett put the Rebelettes in front on the scoreboard in the first half as she scored off an assist from Keren Quintanilla for her fourth goal of the season.

They led 1-0 at halftime.

The Rebelettes wouldn’t allow any equalizers from the Golden Bears in the second half to clinch the win by one.

Parkerson praised the play of midfielders Payton Dearing, Hadley Jolley and Molly Moore for maintaining a solid pace and keeping the game in Franklin County’s control.

He added that Alanta Cornett and Cadence Townsend were integral on the defensive end to keeping the shutout intact.

With the win, the Rebelettes improved to 6-2 on the season.

They will next play Wednesday at Harris Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
