Rebel golfers top Marshall, Lincoln at Saddle Creek

The Franklin County High School boys and girls golf teams competed in a nine-hole match Thursday at the Saddle Creek Golf Club against the teams of Marshall County and Lincoln County.
The Rebel golfers picked up another win in the boys standings with their combined score of 179 beating Marshall County by three strokes. The Lincoln County Falcons ended the boys portion of the match with a score of 208 to take third place.
Chase Towry led the way for the Rebels with his score of 39 for the day putting him in third out of the 16 individual boys competing.
Garrett Patterson contributed a score of 46 to finish second on the team for the day.
Evan Lynch and Brody Metcalf rounded out the scoring portion of the card for the Rebels as both ended the day with equal scores of 47.
Jackson Lynch and Easton Walked carded equal scores of 52 to round out the overall performances for the Rebels.
In the girls side of the match, the Rebelettes finished second with a team score of 101 while the Lincoln County Falcons took first with a combined total of 82 strokes.
Amelia Maxon recorded a score of 50 for the match, and Savana Pendergraff was right behind her with a mark of 51.
The FCHS boys and girls golf teams will next compete on Sept. 25 in the District 8AA tournament. Tee times for the event had not been confirmed at the time of writing.
