The eighth annual Hiles Memorial Golf Tournament was held Saturday by the Franklin County A.M. Rotary Club at the Scenic View Golf Course in Winchester.

The tournament has been held annually since 2016 in memory of A.M. Rotarians Burl Hiles and Sam Hiles with the proceeds from the event benefiting the A.M. Rotary’s various projects involving youth activities in the county. Burl passed away in 2016 while his son, Sam, died in 2022.

Amy Hiles, Sam’s wife, is also a member of the A.M. Rotary and has continued to represent the Hiles family as a host and sponsor for the event.

The 2023 edition of the tournament featured 17 teams competing across three flights in a three-person-scramble format.

Prizes were awarded to the top three teams in each flight with an overall winner also being crowned across the entire day. There were also drawings for cash prizes and gift cards, and additional prizes were given out for winners of longest-drive and closest-to-the pin challenges.

The trio of Daniel Wiggs, Bryan Bradford and Dusty Nash finished first in the opening flight and also had the top overall score for the day. Nash also won the longest-drive competition.

Tyler Stephens, Jason Coker and Luke Kimbril combined to win the second flight for the tournament.

The third and final flight was won by the team of Bobby Osborn, Eddie Campbell and David King with Osborn also winning a drawing for an additional $100 cash prize.

Hunter Condra was the winner of the closest-to-the-pin challenge.
