AngelFest and welcome celebration set for Oct. 20

The Sewanee Business Alliance and the University of the South will be hosting AngelFest on Oct. 20 at Angel Park in Sewanee with the event also serving to introduce the university’s new vice chancellor, Rob Pearigen.

The event promises a blend of family-friendly activities, live entertainment by the band Entice and culinary offerings for the entire family.

Children’s activities kick off at 5 p.m., followed by a musical performance by Entice at 7 p.m. A diverse selection of food trucks and local food vendors will be in attendance.

University Avenue will be temporarily closed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees, and shuttle services will be offered.

Organizer Ed Hawkins urges everyone to enjoy this unique celebration.

“The convergence of AngelFest and the celebration of Vice Chancellor Rob Pearigen underscores the strong sense of community that defines The University of the South,” Hawkins said. “This event serves as a remarkable opportunity for students, faculty, staff and local residents to come together in an atmosphere of joy, camaraderie and celebration.”
