Gators fall to Coffee County in road matchup

The North Middle School Gators lost to the Coffee County Raiders 47-13 on the road Monday for their fifth loss of the season.

The Gators struggled to maintain a consistent rhythm on offense throughout the game as the Raiders took a large lead into halftime and turned the game into a complete blowout in the second half.

Keagan Stewart scored all five points for the Gators in the opening period with the Raiders taking an early lead in the contest.

North trailed 10-5 after one quarter.

The Gators were limited to just three total points in the second quarter with Eli Clark hitting a shot from beyond the arc for the score while the Raiders continued to add to their major advantage.

North trailed 29-8 at halftime.

The deficit grew further in the third quarter as the Raiders were able to push their lead up to an even 30 points.

The Gators trailed 43-13 going into the final period.

The Gators were held scoreless throughout the fourth quarter as the final deficit against them settled at 34 points.

Stewart led the Gators with eight points for the game, followed by Clark with three points and Connor Parker with two.

With the loss, the Gators moved to 1-5 on the season.

They will next play Thursday at home against Warren County Middle School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
