Bears that Care Toy Drive

The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Bears that Care Toy Drive is underway with drop off of new, unwrapped toys at Hall Furniture and the Franklin County Judicial Center. Those interesting in applying to receive toys from the toy drive may do so through the Bears That Care Facebook page or through an application at the Franklin County Judicial Center, 440 George Fraley Parkway, Winchester.

Flu shots

The Franklin County Health Department, located at 266 Joyce Lane in Winchester, is now providing free flu vaccines to the public, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is needed.

Nov. 24

Tis the Season

The second annual Tis the Season will be held in downtown Winchester Friday from 3-8 p.m. featuring a performance by HunterGirl, live reindeer and Highland cattle, a live nativity scene, a kid zone, an enchanted tree path with character meet and greets, a Christmas trail and a community tree-lighting. Events are free. Vendor spaces are available to purchase.

Nov. 24

After Thanksgiving hike

Join park ranger Kelsey Garcia for an after-Thanksgiving hike on Friday from 9-11 a.m. Meet at the Nature Center in the park to hike approximately three miles. Cost is a donation. Register at https://reserve.tnstateparks.com.

Nov. 25

Manchester Christmas Parade

The Manchester Christmas Parade will be held Saturday at 6:30 p.m. starting on McMinnville Highway in Manchester and ending at Fred Deadman Park. The theme is “Christmas at the Movies.”

Winter waterfowl pontoon tour

 Enjoy a one-hour winter waterfowl pontoon tour on Saturday from 8-9 a.m. at Tims Ford State Park. Ranger Kelsey Garcia will take participants on a boat tour to explore Tims Ford Lake to spot waterfowl and possibly bald eagles. Meet at Lakeview Marina in the park. Cost is $20 for adults, $15 for children 12 and younger. Register at https://reserve.tnstateparks.com. Bring binoculars.

Trees of Christmas

Join in for Christmas fun during Trees of Christmas from Nov. 29 through Dec. 3 at the South Jackson Civic Center, 404 South Jackson Street, Tullahoma. Stroll the halls and exhibit areas of the art center while enjoying Christmas music, hot chocolate, coffees, ciders and baked goods. Hours on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 are 6-9 p.m. Hours on Dec. 1 are 5-6:30 p.m. Hours on Dec. 2 are noon to 8 p.m. Hours on Dec. 3 are 2-6 p.m. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for a household. Sewanee tree-lighting

The Sewanee Business Alliance will hold the annual Sewanee Village Tree Lighting on Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m. in Angel Park, located on University Avenue in Sewanee. Enjoy caroling and a visit from Santa who will light the village tree and pose for photos with children. Drinks and refreshments will be available. Christkindlmarkt

Admission is free to Christkindlmarkt on Dec. 2 from noon to 8 p.m. on the grounds and patio stage of the South Jackson Civic Center, 404 South Jackson Street, Tullahoma. This authentic, German-style Christkindlmarkt experience features a 26-foot-tall Christmas tree display, food trucks and vendors.

Christmas in Lynchburg

Everyone is invited to enjoy Christmas in Lynchburg on Dec. 2 starting at noon at 196 Main Street in Lynchburg.

Christmas Festival

Everyone is invited to the Bains Orchard Christmas Festival on Dec. 2 from 3-8 p.m. at 2163 Bains Road in Hillsboro. Cost is $5 per vehicle. Enjoy carolers, photos with Santa, vendors and food trucks.

Fayetteville’s Christmas parade

Fayetteville’s Christmas parade is Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. The parade starts at the Thornton Taylor Bypass, proceeds north on Main Avenue and ends at Washington Street.

Lessons and Carols

The 64th annual Lessons and Carols will be held on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. in All Saints’ Chapel located on University Avenue in Sewanee. All are welcome. No ticket is required.

Photos with Santa

Bring your children and pets for photos with Santa on Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 1-4 p.m. at Tractor Supply, located at 1425 Dinah Shore Boulevard in Winchester. Photos will be printed on the spot. Cost is $15 for 4×6-inch photos (three for $35), $20 for 5×7-inch photos and $10 for digital photos that will be emailed. All proceeds benefit Animal Harbor. Keep pets on leashes or in carriers.

Holiday Tour of Homes

The Tullahoma Day Care Center’s Holiday Tour of Homes benefit is Dec. 3 from 1-5 p.m. with a tour of four unique properties along with the South Jackson Performing Arts Center’s Trees of Christmas and silent auction from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Ticket are $25 each. A Rudolph Run 5K will be held on Dec. 9 starting at 7:30 a.m. and beginning and ending at Sisk Cleaners’ parking lot in Winchester. Proceeds benefit Animal Harbor. Cost is $35. For children younger than 12, cost is $15. A T-shirt is guaranteed with registration by Dec. 1. Enjoy door prizes, a Christmas costume contest, a swag bag and more.

A Christmas market will be held on Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tims Ford State Park. Come out and enjoy shopping from a variety of vendors and food trucks while spending time with family and friends.

Santa comes to town

Santa comes to town on Dec. 9 at the Kiwanis building, 113 North College Street, Winchester. Register from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy free hot dogs, chili and hot chocolate. Drawings will be held every 30 minutes for bikes, toys and electronic giveaways. Sponsored by Kiwanis of F.C.
