Tennis Rebels, Rebelettes take home losses to Lincoln County

The Franklin County High School boys and girls tennis teams competed in a match Tuesday at home against Lincoln County with the FCHS teams both taking losses for the day.
The Rebels lost the boys portion of the match by a 5-2 margin with both of their victories for the day coming in the singles division.
William Orr and Colton Cox beat their respective singles opponents by scores of 8-5 and 8-6.
The Lincoln County Falcons swept the remaining singles matches as Franklin County’s Levi Karl, Lane Blevins and Carter Reed took losses by respective scores of 8-3, 8-2 and 8-0.
The Rebels also lost both doubles matches for the day as the team of Orr and Karl lost by an 8-5 margin while the duo of Cox and Blevins took an 8-3 defeat.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 0-6 on the season.
The Rebelettes were swept in the girls portion of the match by a 7-0 margin.
The Lady Falcons won all five singles matches for the day with Franklin County’s Audrey Glenn taking an 8-3 loss, Kaylee Cox falling by a score of 8-2, and Allie Glenn, Sadie Wells and Maya Perusse each recording 8-0 defeats.
The Rebelettes also lost both girls doubles contests by equal scores of 8-1 to close out the match.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 1-5 on the season.
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams will next compete Thursday against Moore County High School at the Lakewood Golf & Country Club. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
