Drug arrests stem from Lincoln death

Three suspects in connection with an April 14 suspected drugrelated death in Lincoln County have been arrested by Franklin County authorities on narcotics-delivery and illegal weaponpossession charges, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.

The following suspects were arrested on April 15 at a Huntland residence: — Andrew Riley Archer, who is charged with manufacture, delivery, or sale of a schedule II controlled substance; manufacture, delivery, or sale of a schedule VI controlled substance; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony; possession of drug paraphernalia; and maintaining a dwelling for drug purposes.

— Gordon Daniel Prock, who is charged with manufacture, delivery or sale of a schedule II controlled substance; unlawful possession of a firearm; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

— Jason Taylor Foster, who is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reports said a Lincoln County deputy conducted a traffic stop on April 14 involving three occupants. During the stop, one passenger admitted to ingesting an illegal narcotic, reports added.

He was transported to a hospital in Fayetteville, where he later died, reports said, adding that the individual was identified as 31-year-old Jeffery Dawayne Roberts of Lincoln County.

Reports said an investigation into Roberts’ death was then underway along with efforts to identify the source of the illegal narcotics.

The investigation led authorities to Franklin County where a joint investigation between the Lincoln County and Franklin County sheriff’s offices was authorized, reports said.

On April 15 at about 11:30 a.m., the Franklin County and Lincoln County sheriff’s offices executed a search warrant at 101 Hickory Drive in Huntland, reports said.

About one ounce of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, about two ounces of a substance believed to be marijuana, three rifles, two shotguns, one pistol and drug paraphernalia were seized, reports said.
