Rebelettes rout Madison County to open campaign

The Franklin County Rebelettes beat the Madison County Lady Tigers 56-26 at home Friday in their first game of the season.
The Rebelettes outscored their opponent in each quarter as they steadily grew a sizable early lead into a massive deficit for a blowout victory to open their campaign.
The Rebelettes started the day with their best offensive period as they quickly pulled ahead by double digits. Hannah Campbell scored 11 of Franklin County’s 17 points in the first quarter with Danica Stovall providing the other six points.
They led 17-6 after one quarter.
The second quarter would be more even between the two teams, but the Rebelettes still added a few more points to their advantage.
They led 29-14 at halftime.
The Rebelettes remained in firm control in the third quarter as they were able to push the lead up to an even 20 points at 43-23 going into the final period. Campbell scored 10 of Franklin County’s 14 points in the third quarter.
The Rebelettes didn’t allow any shots to be made from the field in the fourth quarter as they fully pulled away to finish off the 30-point victory. Gracen Baggett scored seven of Franklin County’s 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Campbell led the Rebelettes with 24 points for the game, followed by Baggett with 13 points and Stovall with eight. Campbell hit four 3-pointers in the contest.
Kenzie Arnold scored five points, and Aahna Carter, Sadie Hill and Malloree May scored two points each.
With the win, the Rebelettes began the season with a record of 1-0.
They will next play Saturday at home against Scottsboro High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
