Stewart finishes first at Lincoln County meet

The Franklin County High School boys and girls cross country teams competed in a meet Thursday at Lincoln County High School.
The Franklin County runners combined for 10 top-15 finishes at the meet with Owen Stewart finishing first overall in the boys race for the event.
Owen Stewart completed the course with a time of 18:29 and beat a Tullahoma runner in a sprint to the finish line to claim the top spot for the boys.
Daniel Heath was the next Rebel runner to finish the race as he placed 12th for the day with a time of 20:04, and Josh Smith followed seconds later with a mark of 20:08 to take 13th place.
The next two competitors to cross the finish line were also members of the Rebels as Austin Heath and Jasper Henley took 14th and 15th, respectively, with times of 20:29 and 20:30.
Cristian Fravel cracked the top 20 as well as he finished 17th for the day with a mark of 20:40.
The remaining runners for the Rebels and their times and placements for the day were Kane Hawkersmith, 43rd, 23:22; Michael Vasenko, 44th, 23:26; and Mason Phillips, 45th, 23:36.
In the girls race, Audrey Stewart had the best time for the Rebelettes as she finished 10th for the event with a time of 23:51.
Catherine Money wasn’t too far behind as she placed 14th for the day with a mark of 24:17.
Caitlyn Cashion took 16th place for the meet with a time of 24:29, and Zulema Martinez rounded out the top-20 performances for the Rebelettes in 20th place with a mark of 25:31.
The remaining runners for the Rebelettes and their times and placements for the day were Lily Heath, 26th, 27:08; Aahna Carter, 33rd, 28:41; Jada Hand, 38th, 29:30; and Addy Hannaway, 39th, 29:36.
The FCHS boys and girls cross country teams will next compete Tuesday in a meet at Henry Horton State Park. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
