The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Grundy County Lady Jackets in four sets on the road Wednesday for their 15th loss of the season.

The Rebelettes weren’t able to fully rally back after dropping the first two sets of the day as they took a loss in the fourth set as well to seal their overall defeat.

Franklin County head volleyball coach Herb Horton said that his team was outplayed for the day with passing issues and inconsistent serving being a primary issue.

“I was disappointed in our passing, and there were times that we served well. There were other times that we didn’t,” he said. “We were very inconsistent, and if we’re going to improve as a team, we’ve got to be more consistent.”

The Lady Jackets ended the opening set on a 15-3 run for a decisive 25-13 victory for the frame which put the Rebelettes behind early.

The score was tied at seven different points in the second set before the Lady Jackets pulled away late in the frame for a 25-20 win to put the Rebelettes behind by a 2-0 margin on the overall scoreboard.

The Rebelettes got off to a strong start in the third set as they held an 18-11 lead midway through the frame.

The Lady Jackets chipped the lead down to as low as two points later in the set, but the Rebelettes held on for a 25-21 victory to extend the match.

With the score tied at 11-11 midway through the fourth set, the Lady Jackets scored nine of the next 12 points to take control, and they went on to win the frame by a score of 25-17 to conclude the contest.

With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 5-15 on the season.

They will next play Thursday at home against Spring Hill High School. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
