Trojans take road loss to Cornersville

The South Middle School Trojans lost to the Cornersville Bulldogs 36-8 on the road Tuesday for their first loss of the season.

The Trojans were limited to just one score in the contest as they were not able to overcome an early deficit.

The Bulldogs scored two touchdowns in the first half to create some early separation on the scoreboard with the Trojans trailing 12-0 at halftime.

The lone score for the Trojans in the contest came on a rushing touchdown by Jonah Holt in the second half as Odeviyon Poe followed with a successful two-point conversion to give South a few more points.

However, the Bulldogs continued to add to their advantage with three more touchdowns in the second half as the Trojans ultimately lost by 28.

With the loss, the Trojans moved to 1-1 on the season.

They will next play Tuesday at home against Unity Middle School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
