Egg hunts go on despite rain

While a series of Easter egg hunts were scheduled over this past weekend in Franklin County, several events were canceled due to rainy weather conditions.

Still, some diehard young egg-searchers managed to go the distance in celebrating the holiday.

Vision Church held indoor egg hunts on Friday and Saturday with multiple hunts taking place each day. More than 10,000 eggs were hidden over the course of the various hunts.

Eggs were hidden in an indoor pit of balloons and in a grassy area. There were two separate areas for different age groups.

The city of Decherd managed to hold its Easter egg hunt, and Decherd First Baptist Church featured indoor Easter activities.

The Winchester Swimplex held a special egg hunt Saturday with the prizes floating on the water for participants to pick up.

Center Grove Baptist Church was also able to hold its event on Sunday.

An egg hunt at Tims Ford State Park was canceled as were scheduled hunts at Mount Olive and Liberty Road Baptist churches.

There were also egg hunts scheduled at Monterey Station in Cowan and at the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System hospital in Winchester.
