The score remained at 1-0 until the top of the sixth when Wiggs hit an RBI single, and Meyerring followed by drawing a walk with the bases loaded to grow the deficit to 3-0.

The Hornets added on a few more runs in the seventh inning with Kannon Lafevers drawing a bases-loaded walk and Wiggs tacking on another RBI single to make it a five-run game.

The Vikings got their leadoff batter on base with an error in the bottom of the seventh, but the next three batters were retired by Howell in order to wrap up the victory.
