Food giveaway

Christ the King Anglican Church, located at 1231 Cumberland St., Decherd,  in association with Feed America First, will distribute food and groceries to those in need in the community on a first-come, first-serve basis Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.  Please remain in vehicles once in the parking lot.

Food giveaway

Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 322 West Main St., Monteagle, will hold a food distribution for all in need Saturday from 8-10 a.m. Enter behind the church. Assistance will be provided for anyone unable to load their vehicle.

Feb. 12

Unitarian Universalist

     The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma, welcomes speaker Rabbi Rami Shapiro speaking on “Seeking for That Which Cannot be Lost.” Refreshments and a discussion period follow. Visit www.tullahomauu.org.

Tullahoma Sangha

Tullahoma Sangha, a Zen Buddhist meditation and study group, meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Tullahoma, 3536 New Manchester Hwy., Tullahoma.  The service will consist of zazen (meditation), a short lesson and discussion.   Newcomers are welcome to call ahead for a short orientation at 5:45 p.m.  For information, call 931-588-8935.

Black History Program

Mt. Sinai M.B. Church and the Townsend Cultural Center will hold their annual Black History Program on Feb. 25 from 5-7 p.m. at the Townsend Cultural Center, 910 S. Shepherd St., Winchester. The theme is “Legacy—What does it Mean to You?”  Everyone is welcome.

March 5

Singing

Everyone is invited to a singing on March 5 at 10:30 a.m. featuring The Modesitt Family at Huntland Missionary Baptist Church, 306 Alabama St., Huntland. The guest speaker will be Gloria McKissack, whose family is McKissack and McKissack, the oldest black-owned architecture and engineering firm in the U.S. from 1905 to present (118 years and still building). Lunch will follow the singing. Enjoy food, prizes and giveaways. Pastor Bruce Shockley welcomes everyone.
