Rebelettes drop home district matchup to Coffee County

The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Coffee County Lady Raiders 62-23 at home Friday for their 13th loss of the season.
The Rebelettes fell into an early double-digit hole and saw the deficit expand in each quarter as they took a decisive loss in the district contest.
The Lady Raiders scored the first nine points of the game to immediately establish a clear advantage over the Rebelettes. Madison King scored four of Franklin County’s five points in the first quarter.
Franklin County trailed 19-5 after one quarter.
The second quarter wouldn’t go much better for the Rebelettes as the deficit exceeded 20 points before the end of the half.
They trailed 32-10 at halftime.
The Rebelettes more than doubled their point total in the third quarter, but the Lady Raiders still continued to add to the deficit. Na’Kayjah Holman scored eight of Franklin County’s 11 points in the third quarter.
Franklin County trailed 53-21 going into the final period.
A basket by Malloree May gave the Rebelettes their only two points in the fourth quarter as the final deficit settled at 39 points.
Holman led the Rebelettes with eight points for the game, followed by Madison King with four points and Shayla Kennerly and Mikah Brannon with three points each.
Malloree May and Danica Stovall scored two points each, and Aahna Carter scored one point.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 7-13 on the season and 0-2 in district play.
They will next play Tuesday at Shelbyville Central High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
