EDNA FINCHUM

FINCHUM, Edna

Joyce, age 75 of Decherd, Tennessee, passed away on March 24, 2026, at Highpoint Health, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 18, 1950, to the late George and Julia Weddington Boswell. Joyce was a faithful member of Owl Hollow Church of Christ. She was known for her talent in the kitchen, where she made some of the most delicious dishes and desserts that brought joy to so many and was famously known for her thumbprint cookies. She also worked for many years at Lanier Clothes. Joyce found happiness in the simple things in life. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and playing Candy Crush, where she proudly reached an impressively high level. She had a servant’s heart and faithfully made ministry cards for her church, reaching out to others with compassion and kindness. She loved spending time with her family, especially her church family, who meant so much to her. She was strong and resilient, one of the toughest people you could know, yet she carried a deep compassion for others. Joyce was always friendly and welcoming, never meeting a stranger and making everyone feel at home in her presence. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Murrell Finchum; and her brother, Giles Isaac Boswell. She is survived by her loving children, Troy Finchum, Roy Finchum, Allen (Carrie) Finchum and Julia (Krystian) Lozano; her cherished grandchildren, Lexie Finchum, Blair Finchum, Mica Finchum, Krystiano Lozano and Owen Lozano; along with a host of special friends and her beloved church family. Visitation was held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Watson Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9-11 a.m. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home. Interment immediately followed in Owl Hollow Cemetery.
