Tennis Rebels tie Community in home match

The Franklin County High School boys and girls tennis teams competed in a match on April 16 at Tullahoma High School with both FCHS teams taking losses for the day.
The Rebels took a 5-1 loss as a group for the day with their lone victory coming in the singles division.
Colton Cox scored a singles victory for Franklin County by an 8-5 margin.
The Wildcats swept the remaining singles matches as William Orr and Levi Karl both took 8-1 losses for Franklin County, and Lane Blevins and Tristin Cornett fell by 8-0 margins.
There was one boys doubles match for the day with the team of Cox and Blevins losing by a narrow 9-7 margin.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 0-8-1 on the season.
The Rebelettes recorded a 6-1 loss for the day with their lone victory coming from Audrey Glenn in singles action as she beat her opponent by a score of 8-3.
The remaining singles matches were won by Tullahoma as Franklin County’s Mary Elizabeth Orr took an 8-3 loss, and Sadie Wells, Allie Glenn and Eshita Patel each fell by 8-1 margins.
The doubles matches for the contest were also both won by Tullahoma as the team of Orr and Audrey Glenn took a close 9-7 defeat, and the duo of Wells and Allie Glenn lost by a score of 8-2.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 1-8 on the season.
FC tennis versus Community
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams competed in a match on April 14 at home against Community with the FCHS boys recording a draw for the day.
The Rebels played the Community Vikings to a 3-3 draw with all three of their victories for the match coming in the singles division.
The top three players for Franklin County each recorded singles victories as Orr, Cox and Karl beat their respective opponents by scores of 8-1, 8-4 and 8-5.
The Vikings won the other two singles matches for the day with Franklin County’s Blevins and Cornett respectively taking losses by scores of 8-5 and 8-0.
The Rebels lost the lone doubles contest for the boys portion of the match as the team of Cox and Blevins took a narrow 9-8 defeat.
With the draw, the Rebels moved to 0-7-1 on the season.
The Rebelettes took a team loss in the girls portion of the match by a score of 5-2.
Patel and Audrey Glenn scored victories for Franklin County in the singles division as they won their respective matches by scores of 8-1 and 8-6.
The Viqueens swept the remaining three singles matches with Franklin County’s Wells falling by a 9-7 margin and Allie Glenn and Orr both taking 8-5 losses.
The Rebelettes also lost both girls doubles matches for the day as the team of Orr and Abbey McClain lost by an 8-3 margin, and the duo of Wells and Allie Glenn took an 8-1 loss.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 1-7 on the season.
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams next competed Wednesday at the Shelbyville Recreation Center in the District 9AA individual tournaments which came after the Herald Chronicle’s press deadline.
