WOODARD, Veronica

Ann, 75 of Decherd, gained her heavenly wings on April 26, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Decherd, she was born on July 27, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Carol Rowe Pruett; fatherin- law, George Woodard; mother-in-law, Alberta Woodard; brother, Winfred Pruett; grandparents, Joe and Aileen Buckner Rowe; uncle and aunt, William D. and Betty Jo Rowe; brothersin- law, Melvin Woodard and Clarence Woodard; and sister-in-law, Francis Woodard. Ann attended Townsend High School and was a graduate of Franklin County High School. She also attended Motlow Community College for a period. Her employment included Tennessee Apparel, Stanley Tool and New Life until her retirement. Before her illness, she enjoyed spending time with her family, church family and friends. Ann accepted Christ at an early age as her personal savior. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Decherd. Prior to her illness, she served faithfully as mother of the church, church secretary, and director of the choir and kitchen. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, Larry Charles Woodard Sr.; her son, Larry Charles (C.J.) Woodard Jr.; her grandson, Cameron Jace Woodard; her brothers, James (Elaine) Pruett and Timothy (Sharon) Pruett; and sisters, Janice (Bruce) Willis, Alice Faye Hunt, Brenda Finch, Vickey (Bill) Fleming, Phyllis Pruett and Christy Pruett. She also leaves her brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Barbara) Woodard and Danny (Uchenna) Woodard, along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she cherished dearly. Special first cousins include “The Rowe family,” Deborah, Donna, Delilah, George, Iris, Willie Jo, Kenny and Dwight. Other cousins include Linda Kennerly King and the Kennerly family; Harry Wayne Buckner and the Buckner family; and Ray Rowe and the Rowe family. Special friends include Hazel Patrick, Linda Robinson (cousin) and Ida Stovall. The family received family and friends on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home with funeral services following at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Watson Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Rowe, eulogist, and Pastor Wayne Jones officiating.
